Simplify Your Golf Swing and Lower Your Golf Score

Lower Your Golf Score By Making Your Golf swing More Simple

You know there are many parts to a golf swing and every thing before and after the swing.

1. Practice and Warm Up at The Driving Range

If the golf course you a currently playing at does not have a driving range----get out of this course and find find one with a driving range---You need to practice and warm up before you begin your round of golf--Think about this every pro on the PGA uses a driving range before they begin a round----and they will even go to the putting practice green. This only takes 30 minutes before you begin your round.

2. Practice Your Short Same Before Hitting Practice Shots With Your Driver

Start with a few shorts with your wedge and then work through the seven iron and up wards to the four iron. Always take shots with your three iron and two iron before the three wood and driver.

3. Understand Your Stance For Each Club In Your Hands

Using the correct stance when addressing the golf ball is important. Your stance will have a lot to do with the type of golf shot you hit. It will help determine, among other things, the flight path of your shot. If want to hit the ball straight down the middle of the fairway you need to use a stance which will facilitate that outcome.

A stance which is not appropriate for the golf club you are using, could cause a number of things to go wrong. You could slice or hook the ball. A slice is when the ball goes to far to the right, if you are a right-handed golfer. The ball starts out going straight but quickly changes it flight path. The turns to the right, often landing in the rough or woods. This often results from your stance being to open.

An open stance is where the toes of the leading foot are to far behind the toe toes of the foot that follows. And open stance is used for the lower irons and does not cause a slice. However using an open stance when hitting your driver can cause you to slice the ball. There are other factors involved in causing a ball to slice, but correcting you stance is one of simplest ways to stop slicing.

Employing a stance which is to closed can cause you to draw or hook the ball. A closed stance is the opposite of an open stance. A hook occurs when the flight path of the ball starts out straight, but quickly moves to the left, for a right-handed golfer.

A draw is a similar to a hook, but has a less severe change in the balls flight path. This type of shot can actually add distance to your drive and is often hit intentionally. It would be wise to practice this type of shot on the driving range before using it on the golf course.

The best place to make these adjustments in your golf stance is on the driving range. Practice some shots there first before you play a round of golf. Often improving your golf swing and playing a more satisfying round of golf means only making some simple adjustments in your swing.

The Stance and Posture Needed To Hit The Golf Ball Straight

    • Images From Golf Distillery
    • Golf Alignment: Square StanceThe club should point parallel left of the target (imagine the line along your feet and the line from the ball to the target are like 2 train tracks). This is a square stance.

  • Golf Alignment: Shoulders, knees, hips all square to the targetRemember – your knees, hips and shoulders should be in line or parallel to your feet. If you can, have a friend hold a golf club across your hips and then your shoulders while you are in the set up position. Step away and check where this club is pointing.

  • Clubface Alignment: Open, Square, ClosedDon’t forget the angle of the club face as you address the golf ball. This should be square (at right angles) to the ball-to-target line.

4. Don't  Make Your Golf Swing To Complicated

The golf swing can be made to be so complicated, but when you look at it through fresh eyes you will immediately see a couple of things.

Golf is a great game. It offers a person the opportunity to be outdoors and participate in an enjoyable activity. However like all sports it requires practice to become a better player. The better you become at the game of golf the more you will enjoy it. Improving your golf swing through lessons and many hours of practice is the traditional way of achieving this.

There are some drawbacks to learning golf the traditional way. Take for example those who are good enough to play on the PGA Tour. These golfers have worked long and hard to make it to this level. They achieved this through the traditional way of learning the game. This would have included many lessons from highly qualified instructors and many hours of practice on a driving range. Even when they have qualified to play on the PGA Tour, the long hours of practice still must be continued in order to keep their game at the highest level possible. For most golfers this is not practical.

A better approach for the average golfer might be to simplify their swing. The golf swing is a complicated set of motions that must be coordinated in the correct sequence or the resulting golf shot will be unsatisfactory to say the least. Instead of thinking of all these complicated swing components during the actual golf swing, why not keep you mind focused on one or two simple components. Even consider slowing the tempo of your swing, to achieve more accuracy off the tee and when approaching the green.

Does Your Golf Game Need Improvement?

If You Are Reading This Your Golf Game Needs Improvement

Ways To Improve Your Golf Game

1. Stop Trying To Hit Longer Off The Tee ------------Improve Your Short Game

That's right you can reduce the score on your score card by being a better putter an using the sand trap to get up and down and reducing the number of bogies in your eighteen hole round.

2. Go To The Practice Range before your set off for a round off GOLF

That is right================ use the practice range before you start a round of golf. All Pro Golfers use the practice range before they tee off on the first hole.

3. Exercise With the Best Methods To Improve Your Golf Fitness

4 Learn Proper Golf Swing Mechanics

Learning the game of golf requires practice. This practice must be done on the driving range, not the golf course. This is because you will have to repeat your swing many times during practice before it becomes golf course ready. Ask any good golfer. They will tell you that practice is unavoidable, if you what to get better. You will also need proven, quality instructions to improve your golf game. These instructions should be simple to follow. Golf swing mechanics are simple if you break them into their component parts.

The various parts of the swing include the stance, grip, backswing and follow through. Of these swing components the stance will be the first you should learn. Using a good golf stance will help you keep your balance throughout your swing. Balance is critical when it comes to hitting the ball squarely with the face of the club head. Hitting the ball squarely with the club head is critical when it comes hitting the ball straight down the fairway.

The grip is another important part of proper golf swing mechanics. Using the correct grip will help you keep your swing in the correct golf swing path. This will help ensure that your golf club hits the golf ball squarely upon impact. Hitting the golf ball squarely upon impact means the ball will have a straight trajectory.

Learning proper golf swing mechanics will help ensure that you employ these key elements in your Golf Swing. This will help you improve your swing and lower your score as time goes by.

5. Understand The Golf Course You Are About To Play

The game of golf is played on a golf course. It consists of eighteen sections, called holes. Each hole is different in length and difficulty. Because of the difference between each hole, different types of shots have to executed to achieve the lowest score. This called shot making. Having good golf swing mechanics is key to executing all the shots necessary to complete a round of golf with the lowest score possible.

Knowing the golf course you are playing on will help understand which types of shots you will need to use. There are several types of shot you can use based on the design of the hole you are playing on. Two of these shots are the fade and the draw. The fade is basically a straight shot but fades to the right near the end of its flight path. The draw is also basically a straight shot, but it draws to the left near the end of it s flight path. Please note that these descriptions only apply to golfer playing from the right side. Golfers playing from the left side would see the shots from opposite sides.

The fade and draw are shots used when playing on a dog leg. A dog leg is term used to describe a golf hole which is not straight, but curves either to the left or the right. These shots are employed to make the golf hole play shorted the actual posted yardage.

Using good golf swing mechanics will help you master the various golf shots you need to use to lower your golf score. A teaching golf pro can help you learn these mechanics. Golf instruction from the many books and golf magazines available on the internet, can also be useful in achieving this goal.

GOLF COURSES TO CONSIDER IF YOU ARE IN THE CANADIAN ROCKIES

There are a number of excellent golf courses you can play in the Canadian Rocky Mountains. There are three areas to consider; The Kananaskis, Canmore and Banff areas. All are approximately one hours drive from Calgary, Alberta. All Are in the middle of some of the beautiful mountain scenery you will ever experience. In fact after you have played some golf, you can do some world class hiking in the many parks located in the area.

In the heart of the Canadian Rockies, less than an hour's drive from either Calgary or Banff, is the Kananaskis Country Golf Course. It is one of the premier golf destinations in the Canadian Rockies. The surrounding rocky mountains form an unforgettable landscape, the rugged surrounding mountains tower 10,000 feet (3,000 metres) above sea level, the courses themselves are at almost 5,000 feet (1,500 metres).

Down the road is located the beautiful town of Canmore. This picturesque town is home to three golf courses. This includes the Canmore Golf Club, Silver Tip Country Club and Stewart Creek Country Club. The Canmore Golf Club is the town of Canmore original golf course. The Silver Tip course sits at the foot Mount Lady MacDonald. The Stewart Creek Golf and Country Club sits at the foot of the Three Sisters.

The Banff Springs Golf Club is premier golf course in this region. Since 1911, members have been playing on this course. It is owned and operated by the Fairmont Banff Springs Hotel. It is located at foot of Mount Rundle.

6. Learn To Use Your Putter Properly

The putter is one of the most critical clubs to master in the game of golf. Just ask any PGA tour professional. When the putter is hot, so is their game. Good putting can erase any number of bad shots on the fairway. The putter is one of the reasons the term "save par" got coined. When your putter is hot, you will save par. To have a putter which can get hot, you need to learn proper putter swing golf mechanics.

One of the basic rules to good putter swing technique, is keeping the head of the putter square to the ball when you strike it. Keeping the head of the putter square when striking the ball, will ensure a straight shot. This is a fundamental swing mechanism that you need to learn. This must be learned before you can even consider dealing with a breaking putt. You have to be able sink the easy ones before you can sink the more difficult ones.

The putter is the last line of your defense. When all else fails, it can save the day. I have seen this with many junior golfers. Because they don't have the size and strength to reach the green in regulation, then rely on good chipping and putting to make par. This turns out to be very helpful in the development of their golf swing mechanics. As they get older and stronger they begin to hit the ball longer. This new ball striking ability is now coupled with already well established chipping and putting skills.

7. Improve Your Golf Swing Stance

An Very Important Component of Your GOLF SWING IS HOW ADDRESS THE BALL AND YOUR STANCE

Your stance is part of how you address the golf ball

It has a lot to do with the outcome of your golf shot. Using an incorrect stance for the club you are using could result in a slice or a hook. However making certain adjustments in you stance will help you draw or fade the ball when the situation requires it.

In most cases you want to hit a straight shot from the tee or when you approach the green. Using the correct stance for the club you are using is critical in achieving a straight shot. Your stance will be different for the driver than it will be for your irons. In fact the stance for each type of iron you might be using to hit the ball will be different. The feet are wider apart as the you increase the iron number. Your stance will be at its widest for the driver.

When addressing the ball with the lower irons you feet should be in an open position. As you move to a higher irons you stance will become progressively less open. An open stance means the toes of the leading foot is slightly behind the toes of the following foot. You stance will be the most open when using your sand wedge. When addressing the driver your stance should be slightly closed. A closed stance is the opposite of an open stance. When your stance is square the toes of both feet are even.

Learning the correct stance for each club you use in the game of golf is important. It is one of the first aspects of the golf swing you must learn. Seeking the advice of a credible teaching pro would help you to learn about this aspect of the game. There are also some excellent resources on the internet which will help you as well. Some of these resources offer free advice. Other resources will require payment. The resources which require payment will generally give you more specialized advice. This may be worth it as it will help you gain a better understanding of how to stand when addressing the golf ball and ultimately improve your game of golf.

Learning proper golf swing mechanics will help your golf experience to get off to a good start. You ultimately want to be a good golfer. Learning sound fundamentals will give you the tools you will need to improve as time goes on. Some of these fundamentals include, the stance, grip, posture, back swing and follow through.

Learning the proper stance will help you keep your balance throughout your swing. This is also important as you learn to drive the ball farther with increased swing length and club head speed. The stance is also different for each club in your bag. The stance used for your driver is different than the one used for the nine iron. As you go from your two iron to the higher numbered irons, your stance becomes narrower and more open. The stance employed for the driver is the widest and closed.

Using the proper grip is another important aspect of golf swing basics. Employing a good grip will help keep the club head square to the swing plan. This will help ensure that the club head is square to ball upon impact. You want the club head to be square to the ball upon impact. This will cause the ball to fly straight down the fairway. Of course you can alter your grip and stance to fade or draw the ball. These shots are useful on dogleg holes. A dogleg describes a golf hole which bends either left or right.

These golf swing mechanics books includes all aspects of the golf swing. These books are downloadable on your computer or smart phone.

Two of the first things you will learn will be the stance and grip. Access to proven, quality golf instruction is key to learning these things.
