1. Practice and Warm Up at The Driving Range

This only takes 30 minutes before you begin your round.
2. Practice Your Short Same Before Hitting Practice Shots With Your Driver
Start with a few shorts with your wedge and then work through the seven iron and up wards to the four iron. Always take shots with your three iron and two iron before the three wood and driver.
3. Understand Your Stance For Each Club In Your Hands
Using the correct stance when addressing the golf ball is important. Your stance will have a lot to do with the type of golf shot you hit. It will help determine, among other things, the flight path of your shot. If want to hit the ball straight down the middle of the fairway you need to use a stance which will facilitate that outcome.
A stance which is not appropriate for the golf club you are using, could cause a number of things to go wrong. You could slice or hook the ball. A slice is when the ball goes to far to the right, if you are a right-handed golfer. The ball starts out going straight but quickly changes it flight path. The turns to the right, often landing in the rough or woods. This often results from your stance being to open.
An open stance is where the toes of the leading foot are to far behind the toe toes of the foot that follows. And open stance is used for the lower irons and does not cause a slice. However using an open stance when hitting your driver can cause you to slice the ball. There are other factors involved in causing a ball to slice, but correcting you stance is one of simplest ways to stop slicing.
Employing a stance which is to closed can cause you to draw or hook the ball. A closed stance is the opposite of an open stance. A hook occurs when the flight path of the ball starts out straight, but quickly moves to the left, for a right-handed golfer.
A draw is a similar to a hook, but has a less severe change in the balls flight path. This type of shot can actually add distance to your drive and is often hit intentionally. It would be wise to practice this type of shot on the driving range before using it on the golf course.
The best place to make these adjustments in your golf stance is on the driving range. Practice some shots there first before you play a round of golf. Often improving your golf swing and playing a more satisfying round of golf means only making some simple adjustments in your swing.

- The club should point parallel left of the target (imagine the line along your feet and the line from the ball to the target are like 2 train tracks). This is a square stance.

- Remember – your knees, hips and shoulders should be in line or parallel to your feet. If you can, have a friend hold a golf club across your hips and then your shoulders while you are in the set up position. Step away and check where this club is pointing.
- Don’t forget the angle of the club face as you address the golf ball. This should be square (at right angles) to the ball-to-target line.
4. Don't Make Your Golf Swing To Complicated
The golf swing can be made to be so complicated, but when you look at it through fresh eyes you will immediately see a couple of things.
Golf is a great game. It offers a person the opportunity to be outdoors and participate in an enjoyable activity. However like all sports it requires practice to become a better player. The better you become at the game of golf the more you will enjoy it. Improving your golf swing through lessons and many hours of practice is the traditional way of achieving this.
There are some drawbacks to learning golf the traditional way. Take for example those who are good enough to play on the PGA Tour. These golfers have worked long and hard to make it to this level. They achieved this through the traditional way of learning the game. This would have included many lessons from highly qualified instructors and many hours of practice on a driving range. Even when they have qualified to play on the PGA Tour, the long hours of practice still must be continued in order to keep their game at the highest level possible. For most golfers this is not practical.
A better approach for the average golfer might be to simplify their swing. The golf swing is a complicated set of motions that must be coordinated in the correct sequence or the resulting golf shot will be unsatisfactory to say the least. Instead of thinking of all these complicated swing components during the actual golf swing, why not keep you mind focused on one or two simple components. Even consider slowing the tempo of your swing, to achieve more accuracy off the tee and when approaching the green.
